Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was voted the man-of the-match after he scored a second half brace as Manchester City thrashed Stoke City 4-0 at the Ethiad stadium on Saturday.
It was Iheanacho’s 23rd start of the campaign and his fifth goal of the season in the English Premier League and his 11th goal in all competition for Manuel Pellegrini’s side who moved to third spot on the log.
The 19-year-old who was making his eighth start of the season scored his side’s third goal after he slotted home a pass from Jesus Navas in the 64th minute of the one-sided affair.
He bagged his brace ten minutes later when he rounded off Jack Butland in goal for Manchester City’s fourth of the afternoon.
Fernando scored a 34th minute header which gave City the lead before Sergio Aguero gave the Manchester City side a 2-0 advantage into the interval.
The young Nigerian was also the player who won the penalty after he was hauled down by Ryan Shawcross in the Stoke box.
