Obaseki promises to shake up educational system

APC governorship aspirant, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has promised to review the present school curriculum in the state towards ensuring that children are properly guided towards their correct goals in life.

Obaseki, chairman of the Edo State Economic and Strategy Team, spoke at a town hall meeting at the weekend organised by his support group, Street to Street for GO 2016.

Obaseki, who spoke on the topic “The Role of the Youth in Governance, “ equally vowed that he would not joke with the training and retraining programmes for school teachers in the state on the note that only through such will teachers have the capacity to transmit knowledge to their pupils

Obaseki at the programme also promised that counsellors would be introduced to schools to give appropriate guidance to school pupils.

He said: “the present administration which I am an integral part of has done so much in providing the needed infrastructure for our schools. We have built schools and provided furniture for effective learning.

What we need to do now is to provide training for our teachers, review our curriculum and reintroduce counselling to our school system so that our children can have more practical training and guide to becoming that which will make them useful to the society and government in general”.
