Ed Woodward classifies Jose Mourinho is the Best the game

Ed Woodward delighted to hire Jose Mourinho for Manchester United

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was delighted to announce the appointment of Jose Mourinho, calling him the best manager in the game today.

The Portuguese tactician has been announced as new Red Devils boss this morning, signing a three-year deal at Old Trafford.

With a host of major trophy wins to his name, Mourinho joins United with a reputation as a world class coach, though his most recent spell at Chelsea ended on a sour note.

Sacked by the Blues in December after an awful start, the 53-year-old’s harsh man-management methods have at times been called into question.

Still, Woodward believes United have landed themselves the world’s top manager.

‘Jose is quite simply the best manager in the game today. He has won trophies and inspired players in countries across Europe and, of course, he knows the Premier League very well, having won three titles here,’ Woodward told the club’s official website.

‘I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome him to Manchester United. His track record of success is ideal to take the club forward.’
