Amber Heard's fans call to boycott Johnny Depp's film Alice Through the Looking Glass amid abuse claims

The actress is being supported by fans on Twitter after being given a restraining order from her estranged husband

Amber Heard's fans are calling to boycott Johnny Depp's new movie, Alice Through the Looking Glass, amid shocking abuse claims.

The 30-year-old actress , who has been granted a restraining order from her estranged husband after filing for divorce, has received a lot of support on Twitter after being pictured with a bruised eye.
One fan wrote: "i hope johnnys career ends boycott alice through the looking glass."

A second posted: "Boycott Alice through the looking glass and every other Johnny Depp movie # WeStandWithAmber."

"i think, in light of recent events, we should all boycott the new Alice in Wonderland film (sic)," a third added.

Other fans didn't agree with plans to boycott the movie, with one sharing: "Why are they trying to boycott Alice Through the Looking Glass? You realize there are hundreds of people this would affect, not just Johnny?"

Another tweeted: "don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed in # JohnnyDepp however, you shouldn't boycott Alice because others worked hard on the film."

According to Us Magazine, Johnny's new movie is already struggling after opening yesterday, the same day Amber accused him of abusing her.

The Disney flick, directed by Tim Burton, had a $170 million budget, but is expecting to pull in just $40 million over the four-day Memorial Day weekend, according to Rentrak.

Depp reprises his role as the Mad Hatter and was seen without his wedding ring at the recent premiere in Los Angeles recently, before news of his divorce was made public.

Amber - who filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences - claims she has been the victim of domestic violence after the 52-year-old actor allegedly smashed his iPhone into her face.

Depp's lawyers have responded, denying the allegations and claiming the restraining order and request for financial support "appears to be in response to the negative media attention she received earlier this week".

A statement read: "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.

"Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."
