Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah new long-term deal
Timothy Fosu-Mensah is set to follow fellow Manchester United youngsters Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson in signing a new long-term deal to stay at Old Trafford.
The 18-year-old made his first-team debut in February’s 3-2 win against Arsenal and looked at complete ease making the step up from U21 level.
The Dutchman was recently called up by Danny Blind into the Netherlands’ full squad but had to pull out through injury.
Jose Mourinho signed a three-year deal to replace Louis van Gaal at the Theatre of Dreams last Monday and he gave his seal of approval to new deals for Jackson and Rashford.
A criticism leveled at the Portuguese is that he’s been unwilling in the past to hand opportunities to young players but, according to Dutch publication Voetbal International, the Red Devils have offered Fosu-Mensah a new four-year deal to stay at the club.
