Rihanna NOT “Stalking” The Weeknd

Rihanna is NOT “stalking” The Weeknd, despite an absurd new report from the same discredited outlet that recently claimed she’s pregnant. Gossip Cop can bust the nonsense.

MediaTakeOut breathlessly exclaims in one of its annoying headlines, “WHAT THE FREAK???? New Report Say That RIHANNA Is A STALKER… That She Was STALKING The Weeknd So Badly… That He Had To DROP Out Of Her TOUR!!!” The accompanying story points out how The Weeknd backed out of Rihanna’s “Anti World Tour” in March, and notes, “At the time it seemed like an ODD career move, given that Rihanna’s world tour was one of the biggest events of the year.” But the site proclaims to know the secret reason behind the decision.
“The Weeknd did it because Rih was STALKING him,” alleges the webloid.
MTO’s report, though, is solely based on a blind item about a music star getting “several hundred texts and voice mail messages come from this very whacked out A+ list singer to his phone.” The gossip riddle continues, “It was so bad that he pulled out of a lucrative set of gigs with her because he wanted no part of the train wreck.”
Except that’s not why The Weeknd left the tour. In fact, he discussed the situation in a new Vogue interview published this week, explaining he opted to return to the recording studio.
“Creatively, some magic is happening right now, and I don’t want to lose it,” he said.
It’s really as simple as that. And the notion that Rihanna was “stalking” him is just as ridiculous as MediaFakeOut’s allegation just last week that she’s pregnant with either Drake or Leonardo DiCaprio’s baby.
