Pellegrini Backs Iheanacho To Shine Under Guardiola

Manuel Pellegrini has backed Nigerian teenager sensation Kelechi Iheanacho to shine under new boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City next season.

The teenage striker netted his 14th goal of the season, his eighth in the Premier League, in what was his manager’s farewell game in charge of the club against Swansea which clinched a UEFA Champions League spot ahead of Manchester United.
Pellegrini believes the incoming boss Guardiola who takes charge at the Ethiad in July will have an exceptional prospect on his hands.
“I think he demonstrated how important he [Iheanacho] is,” Pellegrini said in his post-match news conference.
“He is a very good player but he also must improve a lot. But a player of 19-years-old who scores so many goals and not playing all the games, I think has a brilliant future.
“I think all the fans of City will be delighted with him in the next years.”
The Nigerian has made 34 appearances for Manchester City this season.
