Marcus Rashford and other Manchester United Players That has been called up for Euro 2016

Manchester United are set to be represented at next month's European Championship finals by a number of players doing battle for their respective countries.

Here are latest news on which Reds could be involved...

MARCUS RASHFORD (ENGLAND) - UPDATE

Roy Hodgson has told a news conference that United youngster Marcus Rashford will make his senior debut for England in Friday's friendly against Australia. "At the moment, it looks very much like Rashford will be starting," confirmed Hodgson, who is awaiting a fitness update on Daniel Sturridge before naming his line-up. Harry Kane is to be rested and Wayne Rooney will begin the game on the bench. There are great parallels with the start of Rooney's international career as the Reds skipper made his bow against the Socceroos and enjoyed his first full England outing at Sunderland's Stadium of Light (against Turkey).

BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER (GERMANY)

The Germany captain is fighting fit and looks set to play at Euro 2016 as he recovers from the knee problem that forced him to miss United's last 11 games. At a news conference on Wednesday, Schweinsteiger stressed he was over the injury he suffered while on international duty. "I am fine and I am right on schedule," he said. "I live for that schedule hour after hour. Ahead of the World Cup 2014, the situation was worse. I will be ready. Of course injuries are always a setback. But I don't know the phrase 'to give up'." Coach Joachim Low added: "Physically, he is doing everything he can. Sometimes he is training three times per day."

PADDY McNAIR (NORTHERN IRELAND)

The youngster, who has been used in midfield for his country, has been speaking ahead of Northern Ireland's friendly with Belarus on Friday. "In the season just past, I didn’t play as much as I would have liked," he told The Belfast Telegraph. "I played in 10 matches in the end but had a few injuries so it was a bit stop-start. I’ll look forward to next season and take it from there. I did say to the manager [Louis van Gaal] in January about going on loan but he wanted me to stay in the squad. He gave me my chance and I’ll always be grateful for that. He gave youngsters a go at United and has done that throughout his career."

MATTEO DARMIAN (ITALY)

The full-back has been named in Antonio Conte's 30-strong preliminary squad for France. After proving his return to full fitness following an ankle problem as a substitute in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, the defender will be determined to show he is worth a place in the final 23 for the tournament. Darmian has 21 caps for his country and played in all 10 qualifiers for the Azzurri, scoring in the win over Azerbaijan in October. In fact, he has been on the pitch for every minute of the last 10 internationals.

DAVID DE GEA (SPAIN)

United's Player of the Year has been included in Vicente Del Bosque's preliminary squad for the tournament, even though Iker Casillas could retain the no.1 spot. Surprisingly, there is no place for Juan Mata in the 25-man party, even though he has played in the last six matches for the reigning European champions. Del Bosque said of his decision regarding a man who scored in the Euro 2012 final: "It pains me but there's a great deal of competition. You have to leave feelings to one side." Chelsea striker Diego Costa has also been left out and two more players will be cut when the final list is supplied to UEFA.

MARCUS RASHFORD (ENGLAND)

The teenager is a surprise name in Roy Hodgson's 26-man squad named on Monday for England's Euro 2016 preparation fixtures. Although the FA Cup final ruled Rashford out of the recent friendly with Turkey, he could be handed a chance to get into the final party when it is whittled down to 23 players. It continues a remarkable rise for the striker, who only made his senior debut in late February. Hodgson has explained how the lively forward is a contender for the tournament.

WAYNE ROONEY (ENGLAND)

The captain for club and country is, of course, in England's squad and looks set to play a key role in France after breaking the all-time scoring record for the Three Lions. With plenty of experience of tournament football, he will be striving to help Hodgson's side challenge for the coveted trophy.

CHRIS SMALLING (ENGLAND)

A fabulous season on a personal level is rightly rewarded with a spot in the England squad and he is favourite to appear at centre-back in the Group B opener against Russia. Hodgson knows him well from their time together at Fulham and he has emerged as a top-quality defender, who was voted our Players' Player of the Year.

ANTHONY MARTIAL (FRANCE)

As expected, the Reds' top scorer will be heading to his homeland for the Euros after being named in the hosts' 23-man squad. The French striker is one of six forwards selected by Didier Deschamps whose men will face Romania (10 June), Albania (15 June) and Switzerland (19 June) in Group A. Martial reacted to the news on Twitter, tweeting: "Very happy to be part of the squad of France for Euro 2016! The adventure begins! #ProudToBeBleus". Meanwhile, Martial's United team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin is one of seven players on standby.

MAROUANE FELLAINI (BELGIUM)

The United midfielder has been included in Belgium's preliminary 24-man squad for the tournament in France. One of only four central midfielders selected by coach Marc Wilmots, the 28-year-old will hope to help the much-fancied 'Rode Duivels' progress from Group E, which also contains Italy, Republic of Ireland and Sweden. Although suspended for United's Barclays Premier League finale against Bournemouth on Tuesday, Fellaini is eligible for the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace and, of course, Euro 2016. Belgium, who have not included Fellaini's club colleague Adnan Januzaj in their provisional squad, kick off their campaign on 13 June against Italy in Lyon.
