Man United Win Dramatic FA Cup Final Over Palace

Manchester United won their first FA Cup trophy in 12 years after an extra-time 2-1 over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

It is also United’s first trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 after winning the 2012/2013 Premier League.

Palace were on the back foot for much of the first half but they took the lead late in the second half with a powerful strike from substitute Jason Puncheon.

United however equalised shortly after with a deflected Juan Mata shot to take the match into extra-time.

Louis van Gaal’s side lost Chris Smalling to a red card in first-half extra-time but Jesse Lingard fired in the dramatic winner in the second half of extra-time to give United their 12th FA Cup trophy, equal with Arsenal.
