Giwa storms NFF, arrested by Police

The drama in the administration of Nigerian football took a new twist Friday afternoon when Chris Giwa and his group arrived the secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The Giwa group had last month secured a ruling of a Jos Federal High Court which was said to have declared them as the authentic board of the federation.

However Giwa who arrived the NFF about 4pm was arrested by the police who drove him away in his SUV to the Wuse Police Station.
The drama began to unfold when the policemen at the gate of the NFF secretariat which they share with the FCT Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) ordered that the main entrance gate be locked.
This resulted in a scene as many people including some journalists who could not enter with Giwa were stranded.
However unknown to Giwa who had entered the secretariat and toured all the offices, he was not to go out as he and his train were prevented from leaving until the arrival of the plain clothed policemen.
Giwa who wore a Navy blue caftan had told some of the staff he met in the office that he would resume on Monday.
“I have come to revalidate the Court Order and by the Grace of God I will resume fully on Monday.” As at press time it was not clear if the police had released him or not.
