Ex-Governor arrested over alleged $115 million Diezani loot
The PDP chieftain is alleged to have received the money in two batches from one Mr. Saint-Anthony Ejiowu, a staff of Fidelity Bank in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
According to various media reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested retired Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, a former military administrator of Akwa Ibom State and a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Nigeria CommunicationsWeek reports that Nkanga is alleged to have collected part of the $115 million deposited into Fidelity Bank Plc by Diezani Alison-Madueke, former minister of petroleum under the Jonathan administration.
The report quotes an EFCC source as saying that Nkanga was arrested in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State yesterday, Monday, May 9, 2016.

Nkanga allegedly received the first batch of funds to the tune of N350 million on March 27, 2015, while he took in the second batch of N100 million on March 31, 2015.
According to the Nigeria CommunicationsWeek report, Nkanga is currently in the custody of the EFCC and will be arraigned in court soon.
