Brothers who killed 62-yr-old retired vice principal in Ondo

A 62-year-old retired Vice Principal, Chief Joseph Omosuyi, has been reportedly punched to death in Okitipupa area of Ondo State by two brothers over argument on family land.
Detectives have subsequently picked up the two brothers, Sunday and Gbenga Akinye.
According to a reliable source the incident occurred at Agirifor area in Ilu-Titun town, Okitipupa council area of the state.

The suspects, who are being detained at the Criminal Investigation Department CID of the state Police Command, reportedly dealt some blows on the community leader when his submission on a piece of land belonging to their family did not go down well with them.
It was also learnt that there had been some disagreement in the community over the piece of land that the family of the suspects have been claiming its ownership.
The source also confirmed that the matter had been pending for over a year because those who intervened could not resolve it amicably to the satisfaction of the feuding families.
The community leader was reportedly approach to help mediate in the unresolved family land matter but his judgement reportedly infuriated the brothers, who descended on him.
He was said to have been punched during the meeting and the deceased reportedly slumped and died before he could get to the hospital for medical attention.
Timely intervention of Policemen in the community saved the situation from becoming bloody as youths and children of the deceased attempted to lynch the suspects.
Contacted the Police spokesman, Femi Joseph, who confirmed the ugly incident said that investigations on the matter was on.
Joseph said that the suspects are in their custody “ I don’t know the extent of their involvement but at present, those are the two suspects we have in our custody over the incident, but we are still investigating."
