Bayern Sign Hummels, Sanches From Dortmund, Benfica
German champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday confirmed the double signing of Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund and teenage midfielder Renato Sanches from Benfica.
The Borussia Dortmund defender, becomes the third high-profile Bayern signing from rivals Dortmund in recent seasons following the acquisition of Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze. Hummels has signed until 2021.
Bayern director Kar-Heinz Rummenigge praised Hummels on the Bayern Twitter handle. The former Germany star said: “Mats is one of the world’s best centre backs. He will increase the quality of our team even more.”
Sanches, 18, reportedly cost €45m and is expected to be a huge star in future.
Rummenigge said: “Renato Sanches is a dynamic, technically-gifted midfielder who is strong in the tackle and will strengthen our squad.”
